The Presentation of Diplomas: Vashon Island High School Class of 2017 Graduation
A NOTE: this was the fourteenth Vashon Island High School Graduation I've shot. It was also the first one I've shot from down at ground level.
Although I have a very good idea of what each segment of Graduation is and what will happen, this year I was having to work out all my angles and all my shots on the fly, as it happened.
It's not like I can ask everyone to stop so I can move and reshoot something over.
I understand there were a few people who were upset that I was "standing in front of them" for a while, and why "don't you just get down on your knees?"
Folks, I'm seventy years old.
I just don't "get down on my knees" and back up again like you young people do.
As it worked out I was able to get down and up once, and then down again on the right side for the duration until the mortar board toss. I did manage to get back up without any assistance. And the grass helped.
Again, my apologies to anyone who I offended. I did the best I could...
