Two Vashon Island Strawberry Festivals, 1978 and 1979
It's almost hard to recognize anything, because so much has changed.
Cars parked out on the Island Highway; Vashon Village wasn't there, let alone the Vashon CC office park. Instead we had a *real* carnival with a Ferris wheel.
The trees planted along the sidewalk at Ober Park look like they'd just been planted. No playground; no library.
I was selling pottery both years with Janice Mallman.
The 1978 photos actually end up with one from the Fremont Fair.
In the 1979 pics the sharp-eyed will notice performers Rick and Mary Tuel; Vashimba closed out Festival on Sunday afternoon.
